Crockett Tiles

All of my tiles are hand-pressed form original designs. I make plaster molds of the original carvings and pound clay into the molds with a mallet. Each tile is stamped on the back with my makers mark. I put hole of for cord or hemp on each tile for hanging. The tile is trimmed then allowed to dry naturally on racks for several days. Next they are hand-glazed. Each color is hand-applied, some with as many as five colors. Next they go into the kiln, to be high-fired at 2167 degrees. This process makes them strong enough to withstand any outdoor conditions.
